I like to think that I’m a pretty good photographer. Am I the best Dallas family photographer? Well, that’s for you to decide.

But when you are deciding upon which photographer is best for you, keep in mind that you want a photographer who is not only incredible behind the lens but fantastic with customer service as well.  I hope my Dallas photo galleries provide enough evidence as to my ability with the camera, but I also strongly believe that the attention I pay to customer service makes a critical difference for why working with me is ultimately a rewarding experience.

What Makes One The Best Dallas Family Photographer?

When looking into hiring a quality family photographer, keep these promises I make to you in mind as to why I’m a little bit different and friendlier than many other family photographers:

No Hiding The Ball On Prices. Many photographers intentionally make quite difficult learning what the true cost of a session will be.  Pricing information on their websites will be incomplete at best, and some won’t even give you a straight answer if you email and ask directly.  That would drive me nuts if I were a consumer — and trust me, I’m not in business to drive my potential customers nuts. The best Dallas family photographer wouldn’t treat you that way. You can learn more about my sessions here, and you can download my most recent complete price list here.

No Grandma & Grandpa Fee.  Many photographers will charge you $25-$50 extra per person if you want to bring more than four family members to a photo session.  Why should I penalize you if you want to bring multiple kids or multiple generations to your family photo session?  That’s not what the best Dallas family photographer would do.  I promise you can bring as many family members as you want for the same session fee.

No Travel Fee. I advertise myself as being available throughout the DFW Metroplex. I’ll travel to a location convenient to you anywhere in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton and Rockwall Counties. So why should I charge you extra for conducting business in an area in which I advertise myself as conducting business? Yet many photographers who don’t want to compete for the title of Best Dallas Family Photographer will tack on an extra fee if they have to travel beyond their immediate neighborhood. Not me.

No In-Home Session Fee. Similarly, many photographers will charge you extra for sessions inside your home. Again, if I were a consumer, this would make no sense — what possible justification could there be for charging you extra for this? As I specialize in natural light, I conduct most of my sessions outside, but there are times when holding sessions inside makes more sense, especially when there’s a newborn involved.  And if that’s the case, I’m not going to charge you extra for doing so.

No “Minimum Investment” Required. Many family photographers will require you to spend a minimum of $400 or $500 on images after the session, even if you only wind up wanting one or two photos from an otherwise-forgettable session. Of course I’d love for all of my customers to spend thousands of dollars on prints and JPGs and albums, but I know that’s not realistic, and I don’t want to force my customers to spend more than they otherwise would in the absence of a minimum purchase requirement.  I have enough faith in what I create for my clients that I don’t need to force my clients into one-size-fits-all minimum purchase requirements in order to purchase images after sessions. The best Dallas family photographer shouldn’t be doing that to their clients either.

No Required In-Person Proofing Session. My time is valuable.  Your time is valuable. So why in the world, in this day and age of the Internet, do many photographers still require you to take time out of your busy schedule to meet in person yet again after your session in order to review your photos in person?  I promise I won’t force any of my clients into these time-consuming situations in order to put the hard sell on you.  We’ll conduct all of our post-session business electronically, with all of your edited photos available online in a password-protected gallery.

Hopefully you now know what questions to ask when looking for the best Dallas family photographer for your upcoming photo session. And if you have any questions for me, please ask: I strive to respond to my clients as quickly as possible.
